I really like the technique used to create this piece of art. The way the background blends in with the paper to eventually fade away is a beautiful touch and the way her hair flows and highlights is very well done. The shading of all of this is very well done. I enjoy the textures used to make the dress and the left wing though the right wing - the pink one - doesn't have quite the same amount of detail. This could easily be fixed by adding more texture to the wings and accentuating each individual feather by outlining them slightly.
The color scheme is a little unbalanced with the dress and wings matching too much and therefore making the pink wing stand out less than the black one. This could be remedied by making the pink wing white so that they both stand out and to give a stronger illusion that the girl is battling between good and evil. I think that the mechanical arm also should have slowly developed instead of appearing immediately after the dress strap ends. I do like how the hair color is not simply one color but varying shades.
The emotion in this isn't clear to me, unfortunately. I'm honestly not sure what emotion this is trying to convey. Her eyes are well done but her expression does not come across easily. Maybe if the tilt of her eyebrows were more developed and the lines of her face were more distinctive, it would be clearer.
The originality of this is fairly high though I have seen quite a few drawings of angels and fairies that are split in half between good and evil.
The placement of everything is well done and properly centered though the reason why pink feathers are falling out on both sides and yet black feathers are not falling out at all is unclear. I still enjoy that elegant touch so that the background is not simply blank.
All in all, this is a beautiful piece in spite of its minor faults and it is definitely going in my favorites.
